Ms Ulian Chun

Ulian Chun started her ballet training at the age of 6 and received her early training from Patricia Cook and Carol Bateman from 1966 till 1975. She studied intensively with the Jean M.Wong School of Ballet passing the Royal Academy of Dancing Advanced Executive Examination in 1975 and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Advanced Examination (National Branch )in 1978.

In 1981, she attained the highest teaching qualification from the Royal Academy of Dancing and was awarded the Advanced Teacher's Certificate.

Since qualifying as a R.A.D.Examiner in 1991, Ms. Chun has examined and taught in Germany, Italy, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Greece, Brazil, Portugal, and Malaysia.

In the past thirty years, Ms. Chun has dedicated herself to Dance Education. Through the learning of Classical Ballet technique, youngsters are given the opportunity to explore their capacity for imagination, initiate creativity, strengthen self esteem and communication technique.

Ms Ho Po Yee

Miss Ho is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance. She was the dance choreographer for the Hong Kong Television Broadcasting Company ( TVB ) for many years, and had taken an active role in many major television productions.

In 1970, she established the "Elegant School of Dancing" with her friends and at the same time being the dance teacher of several secondary and primary schools. She was also the Director of Educational Program of the City Contemporary Dance Company before she immigrated to Canada in 1990. There in Vancouver, she established the "Polly Dance Academy" to continue with her teaching career. In 2005, she returned to Hong Kong and continues to contribute her effort to foster the art of ballet.

 

Chistina Lai Sau Ting

 

Christina Lai was born in Guangzhou and from 1979 trained under the Tsinforn C. Wong Memorial Scholarship for nine years at the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet. During that time she also danced in the Hong Kong Ballet Group's productions. In 1985 she was awarded the Heinz Bosl Scholarship to study further with Madam Marika Besobrasova at ‘Ecole de Dance Classique Princess Grace de Monte-Carlo'.

In 1988 she won the SCMP Student Dancer of the Year Award and joined the Hong Kong Ballet in July that year. Since then she has danced the main roles in ‘ Swan Lake ', George Balanchine's ‘ Who Cares ?', ‘ Square Dance ' and ‘ Concerto Barocco ', as Snow Queen in ‘ Nutcracker ', as Helena in ‘ A midsummer night's dream ', Sir Frederick Ashton's ‘ Les Patineurs ' as Blue Girls and The Young Girl in ‘ The Two Pigeons ', as Lise in ‘ La Fille Mal Gard é e ', Wayne Eagling's ‘ The Last Emperor ' as The Empress “Wan Jung”, Choo-San Goh's ‘ Unknown Territory ' as the Woman.

She was promoted to Senior Soloist Artist in 1998 and has finished Professional Diploma at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2001. She has married and has a 5 year old son. She has been teaching ballet classes with Jean M. Wong School of ballet, Glenda Allen Dance Academy, Hong Kong Children Arts Academy, Ulian Chun Academy of Dance and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts junior programme.

 

 

Venus Yu Sin Man

 

Venus is 22 years old, and commenced her ballet training with the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet at the age of four, with dance teachers Ms Ulian Chun and Ms Anna Chan. Venus also took part in the International Sumer Dance School and Stars of Tomorrow performances since she was young.

Since year 2002, she furthered her training with the Ulian Chun Academy of Dance, and has performed in the school's annual performances. In the same year, Venus started teaching ballet in the Ulian Chun Academy of Dance and Caritas Community Centre.

She Passed the Advanced II Level Examination of the Royal Academy of Dance in 2004 and participated in the International Summer Dance Exchanging Camp in various dance forms.

 

Carrie Tsui Pui Yee

 

Carrie Tsui started ballet training at the age of 4 under Ms. Jessica Wong. She received the RAD Teaching Certificate and ATOD teaching Diploma in 2005.

She has participated in many performances and competitions. In 2006, she participated in a dance show in the FIVB World Volleybally Championships held at the Hong Kong Coliseum and she also won the silver prized in the group competition of the 26 th Shatin Dance Competition. She is currently a fulltime dance teacher at various dance schools, and she focuses on teaching Jazz dance at Ulian Chun Academy of Dance.
